Direction 2 — Corsica
AMMI Atelier

Aspen, Colorado — est. 2021

Composed to be kept.

A dried and preserved floral studio. Colorado wildflowers, gathered and hand-dried, composed by many hands into pieces that hold their season indefinitely.

A composition of preserved burgundy cosmos, orchid umbels and amber seed heads in a stone vessel on raw concrete, lit by low morning sun.

I — On the name

Ammi majus grows almost everywhere and is noticed almost nowhere.

Alicia first truly saw it on the coast of Corsica, on the trip that became this studio. In the language of flowers it means sanctuary and refuge. Its structure is the point: hundreds of small blooms holding one another into a single form.

Atelier is simply where skilled hands work.

Inside the studio
Macro detail of a single dried Ammi majus umbel, hundreds of tiny florets forming one flat lace-like head.

II — The position

Not a flower shop. A sanctuary. A studio.

III — The collection

Composed, one at a time. Nine pieces this season.

Every arrangement is made by hand from preserved Colorado botanicals, so no two are identical — stem counts, heights and tones shift with what the meadows gave us.

IV — The way we work

The Three Silences.

I

Intention

Every piece is composed with purpose, not habit. The empty space is decided as carefully as the stems.

II

Imperfection

Nothing in nature is symmetrical. We preserve at the peak, the way a memory is held carefully rather than frozen.

III

Community

Made by many hands working in quiet concert — women who come to work, create and be present alongside one another, without pressure or hierarchy.

Three pairs of hands working on separate compositions along a long bleached wood table in morning light.

V — The studio

A workshop of many hands.

We work at one long table in Aspen. Stems are gathered from Colorado meadows and from farms within a morning's drive, then hung, dried and held until they are ready. Some pieces take a week. Some wait a season.

VI — Trade & partnerships

For rooms that are lived in for a long time.

We compose at scale for boutique hotels, event and wedding planners, corporate gifting programmes and interior designers — installations that hold for years rather than days.
